Lukas Schmutzer

Lukas Schmutzer is a scholar of literary studies at the Department of German Studies at the University of Vienna. He works for the project "Dismantling the Archive", which is funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF (2021-2024). In 2020, he received the Theodor-Körner-Award for his projected novel literacy's labour's lost. In 2019, he completed his doctorate on aesthetic and performative aspects of Marianne Fritz' Whose language you do not understand at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Vienna, funded with scholarships of the same university as well as of the Austrian Academy of Sciences ÖAW. Driven by the epistemic problems of archives, his current research focuses on the interaction of experimental/poetic language and conceptual frameworks.
